Monson Brothers Farm Management produces cereal grains, canola, alfalfa, hay and some beef cattle. We also operate a custom grain farming business and machinery sharing service. We farm leased land for ourselves and do the work for retired farm families, absentee land-owners and other farms seeking custom services in eastern Washington. And, we’re always on the lookout for more work of all these types, because we’re dedicated to keeping family farming alive in Whitman county and beyond.

The Business of Modern Quality Farming

We are “old school” in our belief that “land is a legacy to protect and preserve.” Yet, how we preserve grain farming is decidedly modern. We augment the businesses of successful farmers by providing them custom farming operations in areas they are lacking or to ensure timely field operations when they are too busy elsewhere. But we cultivate more than grain; we also foster personal relationships with landowners, offering innovative lease and purchase solutions for mutually beneficial outcomes.

CUSTOM FARMING
MEANS DOING WHATEVER IS NEEDED

We start by assessing each landowner’s individual goals then design a mutually beneficial solution which can include land lease, crop share, flex-cash rental or any of a long list of custom farming services. But wheat farming today requires a lot more than working the land. So, we provide every land-holder with informed recommendations on crop insurance, grain marketing and Farm Service Agency program participation, crop sharing options and much more; all to maximize efficiency and increase their profit potential and land values.

“The farmer is the only man in our economy who buys everything at retail, sells everything at wholesale, and pays the freight both ways.”

—John F. Kennedy
